As the lonely eagle flies into the winds
On majestic... soaring...gliding wings
A single scream comes from the sky
Come fly with me... come here and fly is the eagle's cry
My heart yearns to be a part
As I feel the beating of his heart
Oh for my soul to be one with this bird flying so carefree
Flying so perfectly in the sky for all to see
His wings in the wind as it caresses his soul
And soars across the streams without a goal
My being trembles with delight of such a sight
A treasure I received from God tonight
A gift like no other watching him soaring so high
Inviting me to join him and fly fly fly.

Dear Members and Non-Members, We have had devastating news. Our own Woodie Spears has passed away. He suffered a heart attack April 17th and everyone including the doctors thought he would mend and survive, but unfortunately his body was too weak. Our hearts are hurting and we pray for his family. We will miss him tremendously. He did so much for our Chapter for us to continue financially and was working diligently to support the Summer Flight Academy and although it was a tiring effort on his part, he continued with all the energy he had. If you would like to make a donation to the Summer Flight Academy in Woodie's name, checks can be written to the "Summer Flight Academy" and sent to the TAI - William "Bill" Cambell Chapter.

A memorial service celebrating Leon “Woodie” Spears’ life was held Wednesday, May 21st, 2008 at the
Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward, CA. Proceedings began at 2 pm, and was followed by a dramatic, appropriate fly-over of P-51 Mustangs, the type of fighter plane Woodie flew.
